Jauna, you'll remember her with her daughter Kyleigh, has a little girl named Gracie. She's not quite a year old, so Jauna suggested that some of our previous hairstyles could possibly work. She set out on a mission and figured out one for sure that does!
I introduce, BABY climbers in cutie Gracie's hair!
Boy I wish I'd thought of those with Sophia! CUTE!
Also, I have some news that may be slightly disturbing to those who understand the real 'hair struggle' that faces some little girls.
We cut Sophia's hair.
Into a drastic A-line.
Not my intention. I said A-line, the hairdresser heard "OMG THIS MOM IS DARING! YAY!!!" And cut it pretty dang drastic. When I realized what she was doing it was TOOOOOOOOO late.
Don't get me wrong, the haircut is 'good' but it's TOO much (And I'm daring, check out my own hair!) I just hate when it turns into puppy dog ears. SO, I have cut it up a bit myself to make it less puppy, more little girl and it looks a lot better. I'll post the pics of before I cut it up. My snips didn't make a HUGE difference, just enough to make my heart stop pounding in my chest when I looked at her. :P
Sittin' pretty ;)
Yikes, right? This haircut looked adorable from the SIDE, but NOT in the back.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, our hairstyles will involve the top part of Soph's hair even MORE from now on. *Sigh* I'll get to work as soon as I can figure it all out LOL

You won't believe this, but I actually sought out your blog because of a similar situation. You see, I took my five year old to get a fresh cut before kindergarten began, and she ended up with a super-drastic A-line.
We lived with it for a week before my daughter butchered the front ("I wanted bangs, mommy, not an a line."). There seemed nothing we could do, really, so I trolled the web for short hair styles (most of the hairblogs out there are for long haired pretties) and I liked your ideas so much that I subscribed to your feed.
I'm sorry for the disappointment you've got with her new cut, however, I'm really waiting on the edge of my seat to see how you pretty it up so I can imitate you. :) Good luck! -Michelle
OMG that is soooooooo cute...i wish kaite's hair was straigh i would soooooooooooo love to do this to her hair...but she has the white afro so it has to stay passed her shoulders or it just looks goofy...im sure u will come up with some great styles in no time
I want to see Sophia's cute face! Send me a picture...
Hey Michelle, Thanks for the encouragement! I'm hoping this is just a chance to stretch my mind a little..or something ;)
Sheila- LOL at the white afro!
I love it! I have a daughter with hair just as short...on purpose. Check out my new hair blog, and you can see some things we do in her hair. P.S. I have a giveaway going on right now!
Very cute! I'm going to try this on my little girl. I think I may give away a hair product for my next give away beginning in October. Right now, it is photo stamps if you want to leave a comment, it will enter you. I have always loved your site!
It looks pretty cute, and thick! We had something similar happen. Elizabeth's hair was just long enough that I could pull it into a full pony and no bangs. I had done the chain link do from Curl's and Cowlicks on her hair one day, and my 4 year old son decided to do some experimenting on her hair with a pair or kid scissors and cut straight through the lattices. I was MAD! LOL. Needless to say, she has bangs now and a cute little bob that is barely to her shoulders. I can't do a full pony anymore. I can't even do full piggies anymore. But I've been able to do a few things that are really cute. You'll find some cute things to do too.
The new cut is cute on her. How long was her hair before you cut it? It looks so much thicker now!
I love that new cut! A little short, but at least it grows!!! :)
As for tiny tiny baby hair...I do tons of stuff on my wee one and she has no hair!! It is amazing how much you can do with alot of a elastics and little bits of hair :)
I love it. :)
