I apologize Walmart!

For dissin' on the bands that everyone else loves! Whether we got a bad batch, or it's because Shorty's hair is so thin that it's wrapped a zillion times, or they're just not my favorites, we seem to be a minority!

I'll never buy them again, but it seems like a lot of you will, so..forget I hate them hehe. I'll stick with rubberbands!!

As for hairdo's, we've been SO BUSY that I haven't done anything new yet. I study her head daily tho. I have a couple ideas I may try this week. Don't give up on her hacked hair yet!

No need to apologize, it is YOUR experience and YOUR blog. I personally agree with you and they have ruined my DD's hair causing me to have to cut it shirt because it was ripping her hair and breaking it.

BTW...Love your site, newer reader, newer follower, first time commenter

haha welcome!

I'm glad (ok not glad since it broke your DD's hair) that I'm not alone!! I was starting to feel crazy. Which is only PARTIALLY true.

I hate them too. The only ones I like are the no-break ones, but I can't seem to find them anymore so I'm always irritated when I buy new bands and they suck. Maybe I'll have to look at Sally's.

Thanks for inspiring me to do my girls' hair again. My oldest is almost 8 and I have to keep her hair short because it's too thin long. I used to get so tired of doing the same things to her hair every day so I started telling her to just brush it or put a head band in. I also have an 11 month old who has very pretty hair, it's just thin. I haven't tried anything too complicated in her hair yet, but I do pull it up every day now. I discovered your blog a couple of weeks ago, so thank you, thank you!

I use a different kind, I will have to find the name and let you know, but- I hardly ever use them in my daughters hair, you can only use them once, and I have to break them (not the hair) so it won't break my daughters hair.

Yep, no need to apologize. We all have stuff that works for us, and stuff that doesn't! Never hurts to compare.

There are a few different types at my Wal-Mart. Is everyone talking about the same thing? Because one kind I totally loved (stretchy, reusable, work great) and the other kind I totally hated (snap in the middle, not very stretchy, and pretty much worthless)!

I think you're right. About all of it. Those rubberbands are probably fine for those who wrap them a couple of times, but for those of us who have to go around and around, many, many times...no good!

I always do my Daughter's hair at night (because that's when she sits still), and those dang things are usually broken by the time she wakes up the next day.

I tried to wrap them less times, but then they don't hold the pony close to her head.

I guess we all just find what works best for us! =)

P.S. LOVE your site!!

Oh, I agreed with you, but they usually work one time. I do have a lot break though and sometimes toward the end of the day for no reason. I just don't know what else to buy. I don't really think you need to apologize either. I know exactly which ones you are talking about too.

Just wanted to add I agree that the wally world ones suck! I have used them alot and they eventually break everytime! And if i get a curling or straightner near it it melts and breaks! I have found a jack-pot though i hope it's ok i share but at sally's beauty supply or whatever beauty supply store you have they have them in bulk i got 500 clear ones for like 2.50 on sale! Woo hoo! Just thought i'd share! By the way I love your blog and you've inspired me so much thanks!

I have to agree with you. They do suck. Since my daughers hair is so fine and thin right now (she just turned 2,) I can only use these stupid things once. Then off they go in the garbage. That is if they dont break after a few hours in her hair by themselves.

I just found some at Sally Beauty supplies today that I am hopeing will work better.

BTW thanks for all the great ideas for hair. I am a mom of 3 and my first 2 were boys, so this girl stuff is new to me.

I agree too, they suck! :) I had one just this morning snap and break and it hit me so hard on the chin it gave me a welt! So don't apologize! haha
